Torna

Torna is about 85Kms from Pune. We need to park our vehicles at Velhe (the base village) and start treking. This is one of the most beautiful Forts near Pune. It is a proper trek involving some walking, climbing and rock-climbing. The scenery is beautiful through out. I have been to Torna 4 times and still am not bored of it. It takes about 3hrs to reach the top. From the top, there is a way leading to Rajgad which can be seen from Torna. This was the first Fort conquered by Shivaji at the age of 16 and has a lot of historical importance. This is one of the highest Forts standing at a Height of 4,600 Ft above MSL (Mean Sea Level). This is not a Fort to be missed and i enjoyed every minute of every trek. Check out the pictures below. On top
