My Thunderbird Twinspark

Finally i got my Royal Enfield Thunderbird Twinspark on Feb 16th. Royal Enfield has been in this country since 1955 and have manufactured awesome bikes. Let me explain my experience with my Thunderbird.

Looks : It looks great with a lot of Chrome. The engine is huge and you can really really feel the power. The seats are broad and very comfortable. The Round Headlights add to the Classic look. The best thing is the Bazooka Silencer. The bike is so huge that all other bikes look like toys.

Quality : Everything is Metal except for the Speedometer and the Indicator. That is the reason the bike is so heavy (182Kgs). Unlike the other Indian Companies, Royal Enfield never compromises on Quality...no wonder they are still ahead of the race. No doubt the bike is expensive (1 lakh 12 K), but it is definitely worth the money you pay.

Ride Quality : This is by far the best bike on Indian Roads as you feel the Raw Power. You feel like the King of the Road..!! The brakes are too good. The bike is so heavy that it never lets go of the road. Although being a big bike, it handles pretty easy in traffic. I have also tried Mutha Ghats and it climbs the slopes with ease. The headlights are pretty good, but i will still prefer HID Xenon as i am used to them. The horn is pathetic and definitely needs to be changed. The horn sounds like that of a Scooty Pep or something. I did have a little vibrations until 1st service (500Kms). The indicators dont have a beeper. I really cannot understand why all new bikes come without a beeper for the indicator. A beeper means more safety and we donot forget to turn it off after turning and it also alerts the other people that we are going to turn.

There were engine vibrations till 1st Service. The bike performs really smooth after the 1st Service. The mileage i got initially was 43Kmpl and now i get 51Kmpl. The guys at the showroom recomended to use only ordinary petrol. Anyways who cares about mileage?? It is all about sheer Riding Pleasure !!! And that is what makes BBC rate this bike as Asia's Best Cruiser.
